NNY Adult & Youth Soccer League and Academy To Remain Open

MORRISTOWN -- Officials at the NNY Adult & Youth Soccer League and Academy have announced that the league will remain open despite a recent closure announcement.

New programs that the league is working on for the 2014 season include charity work to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The Ronald McDonald House.

League President Ben VanDamme of Brier Hill says that the league will continue to do free registrations to improve the numbers in the youth and adult divisions.

Another project this season is extending invitations to school districts to try to recruit youth for summer programs.

“If we can get numbers to grow between now and the end of April 2014, the league will consider staying open to provide soccer program’s here in the North Country” said VanDamme.

A variety of new additions have been added to the league’s website including a bullying policy, concussion policy and several online forms for parents and adult players to complete to make registration easier.

The league is seeking a league officers for the new season. A volunteer application available on the website. Other positions include parent reps, board members and coaching staff.
