EDWARDS -– Nine fire departments responded to an Edwards fire that displaced four residents at 2:16 a.m. Tuesday.
St. Lawrence County fire investigators believe wood furnace was the cause of the fire at the 19 Maple Avenue apartment owned by Mary Robinson.
The apartment was occupied by Brandon R. Durham and three others, but no injuries were reported.
Investigators said Edwards, Hermon, Gouverneur, Russell, Fine, Harrisville, Star Lake, Richville and DeKalb Junction firefighters responded to the scene.
Edwards, Harrisville and Gouverneur rescue squads also responded.
No injuries were reported and the property was insured, according to a release from St. Lawrence County Dispatch.
