GOUVERNEUR -- Crews are expected to begin mainline reconstruction on U.S. Rt. 11 in the Village of Gouverneur next week.
The state Department of Transportations says that work is expected to begin Monday near the intersection of Rt. 11 and Gordon Street and will include bulk excavation and the placing of sub-base material for the new roadway.
Alternating one-way traffic will be controlled with flaggers. Motorists should expect delays.
The $9 million two-year project, which includes storm sewers and reconstruction of 1.2 miles of U.S. Rt. 11 from Route 58 to the eastern edge of the village, is expected to be complete by December.
