Newest challenger to North Country Rep. Stefanik endorsed by Greenwich Democratic Committee

The Greenwich Democratic Committee unanimously endorsed Sara Idleman as their candidate for the 21st District Congressional election in 2018.

This endorsement reflects the Committee’s support and appreciation for her work on behalf of all constituents, the Democratic Party, the Town of Greenwich, and Washington County, the committee said in a prepared statement.

Idleman, supervisor of the Town of Greenwich and member of the Washington County Board of Supervisors, will officially announce her candidacy for New York’s 21st Congressional District with an event at the Greenwich Elks Lodge on Jan. 6.

Idleman has joined a field of Democrats vying to challenge North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik in November 2018 for her seat in Congress. Democrats Patrick Nelson of Stillwater, Donald Boyajian of Cambridge, Ronald Kim of Queensbury, Tanya Boone of Granville, Emily Martz of Saranac Lake, Katie Wilson of Keene and Tedra Cobb of St. Lawrence County all are seeking the congressional seat.
