NORWOOD – New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) recently donated to $1,238.65 toward “Save the Fountain” restoration efforts.
Charmaine Calhoun from the New York State United Teachers union for organizing this fundraiser and all NYSUT members who contributed.
Save The Fountain was established in 2016 to restore a historic, over 100-year old fountain in Norwood, that is situated in front of the old Norwood Union School, built in 1885.
Save The Fountain has been fundraising for over a year and organizers say the fountain is in the restoration stage.
After receiving support from Sen. Joseph Griffo last fall, Save The Fountain will continue fundraising to develop the park surrounding the fountain into a historical park.
There will be donor opportunities available for individuals, families, organizations and groups, businesses and alumni classes.
To donate, contact Terri Sharlow Clemmo at (315) 842-9692 or wife2004@gmail.com
More info can be found on the Save The Fountain’s Facebook page.
