CANTON -- New York State Police exams will be offered at SUNY Canton at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 12 and Oct. 26
Interested individuals can visit www.troopers.ny.gov to view a full list of exam dates and times, apply for the exam, and view a list of criteria that needs to be met in order to participate.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 8.
With over 4,500 sworn members, and more than 900 non-sworn employees, the New York State Police provides a number of services including aviation, dedicated interstate patrols, canine patrols, SCUBA, counter terrorism, crime analysis, forensic sciences, forensic crime laboratory, commercial vehicle enforcement, Special Operations Response Team (similar to SWAT), narcotics enforcement teams, violent felony warrant squad, marine unit, crisis negotiation teams, accident reconstructionists, drug recognition experts, mobile command post, major crimes unit, auto theft unit, firearms tracing unit, hazardous materials enforcement, and computer crimes unit.
