OGDENSBURG -- The New York State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is seeking volunteers.

Those participating in the program, which is sponsored locally by Catholic Charities, work about four hours per week with residents in nursing homes, long-term care facilities and adult homes. Their job is to advocate for the residents' rights and help them solve problems.

There will be certification training later in the fall.

Those seeking a volunteer application and interview should call Winny Sachno, 393-2255. She is the long-term ombudsman coordinator at Catholic Charities.
