Contractors for the New York State Department of Transportation will be paving most of a 30-mile stretch of State Rt. 37 from Massena to Ogdensburg starting on Friday, July 20.
The project will run though the towns of Louisville, Waddington, and Lisbon, but will not include the village of Waddington, which will be paved later.
Specifically, it will extend from the intersection of State Rts. 37 and 56 in Massena to the intersection of State Rt. 37 and County Rt. 28 in Ogdensburg.
Michael Flick, the DOT spokesman for the Watertown office, said it is unusual for a project to begin on a Friday, but that the schedule will allow them to pre-position equipment and signs.
The work is expected to take several weeks to complete. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot vehicle will be used to assist motorists through the work zone.
Motorists may encounter minor delays.
