POTSDAM -- Holidays seem to run in the Bennett-Willard family – a “New Year’s” baby just gave birth on Christmas Eve.
Samantha Willard of Potsdam, who was born Jan. 1, 1983 to Gay Bennett, recently gave birth to her fourth child on Christmas Eve 2012.
The child, aptly named Destiny, was originally to share her mother’s holiday birthday this New Year’s Day, but complications led to an early arrival. Her C-section was moved from New Year’s Day to Dec. 21, and finally was bumped to her actual birthday, Christmas Eve.
Destiny Marie Nichole Willard made her entrance on Dec. 24 at Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone at 8:25 a.m. She weighed in at 6 pounds and 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. She joins siblings Steven Jr., 21; Michael, 8; Aaron, 4 and Savannah, 3. Destiny’s father is Steven Willard, also of Potsdam.
Destiny arrived home from the hospital Dec. 26.
