A new 1.5-mile trail is now open in Louisville.
LOUISVILLE -- A new recreational trail on Nichols Hill Island in Louisville is complete, according to the New York Power Authority.
The trail, which will be managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, includes a portion that is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, NYPA said.
Roughly half of the two-mile trail has a packed surface or boardwalk suitable for wheelchairs and strollers and also features an observation platform overlooking the St. Lawrence River and a hunting blind.
The trail is accessible from the DEC road off state Route 37 in Louisville, about 1.5 miles east of Coles Creek Marina.
