OGDENSBURG – The Ogdensburg City School District Board of Education formally appointed Kevin Kendall as the next district superintendent of schools at Monday’s meeting.
Kendall, who serves the district as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment and Technology, will take over for superintendent Timothy Vernsey on Jan. 1, 2019 at a salary of $140,000.
The Board of Education also approved an amendment to Vernsey’s contract that will allow the outgoing superintendent to receive payment for unused vacation days upon retirement.
Ogdensburg Free Academy High School Principal Cynthia Tuttle and Superintendent Vernsey offered congratulations to Kendall at the end of the meeting.
“Congratulations Mr. Kendall, you’ve been trained well,” Vernsey joked.
