POTSDAM – Pickup of recycled paper, bottles, cans and plastic is now taking place separately from the trash pickup, Village Administrator David Fenton is reminding residents.
Now that new “Zero Sort” rollable containers have been delivered to all households in the village, recyclables will be picked up every other week on Wednesday.
Trash collection will continue to take place on Tuesday or Thursday, depending on where residents live.
For residents who have Tuesday trash pickup, recyclables will be picked up in 2012 on the following Wednesdays: Jan. 4 and 18, Feb. 1, 15 and 29, March 14 and 28, April 11 and 25, May 9 and 23, June 6 and 20, July 4 and 18, Aug. 1, 15 and 29, Sept.12 and 26, Oct. 10 and 24, Nov. 7 and 21,and Dec. 6 and 19.
Those with Thursday trash collection will have recyclable pick on these Wednesdays: Jan. 11 and 25, Feb. 8 and 22, March 7 and 21, Apr. 4 and 18, May 2, 16 and 30, June 13 and 27, July 11 and 25, Aug. 8 and 22, Sept. 5 and 19, Oct. 3, 17 and 31, Nov. 14 and 28, and Dec. 12 and 26.
The village has posted a listed of trash collection days by street on its website, www.vi.potsdam.ny.us.
