The North Country Regional Volunteer Center has established an on-line volunteer resource center that serves St. Lawrence and surrounding counties.
The volunteer center has partnered up with the United Way of NNY and Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce to offer a free seminar on volunteer recruitment and data base development.
The training will be on how organizations, agencies, and municipalities can use the free volunteer match website.
Also included in the training is a focus on recruitment, orienting, supporting, evaluating and saluting (ROSES) volunteers. Best practices will be shared when it comes to the previous areas from all cohorts.
The training will take place at Ramada Inn located at 6300 Arsenal Street, Watertown on Jan. 7, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a free lunch served while discussing the volunteer database and volunteer recruitment strategies.
To attend, RSVP by Jan. 3 the United Way of NNY 788-5631 or email Trudy Slotnick (tslotnick@unitedway-nny.org).
