OGDENSBURG – A new obstetrician and gynecologist has joined the medical staff at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
Dr. Srinivas Ketharaju is providing care at 3 Lyon Place, Suite 300, Ogdensburg. Appointments can be made by calling 393-6186. No referral is necessary.
Ketharaju comes to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center from Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, KY, where practiced from August 2010 to present.
He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology through Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, Bronx, NY. Ketharaju earned his doctor of medicine and surgery from NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is board certified through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Ketharaju is fluent in English, Telugu, and Hindi. He has a professional interest in minimally invasive surgery.
“As the child of two physicians, I grew up watching my parents make a difference in their patients’ lives which instilled in me awe, and a passion for the profession of medicine. My goals are to establish a practice that is known for providing quality health care that meets the needs of the women and families of the community while making them feel like they have a doctor whom they can trust and is part of their family," he said in a prepared statement from the hospital. "Each patient is an individual and has different expectations. I prefer to be a guide and offer choices, rather than using a one size fits all approach or to force my opinions when treating them. Women tend to take care of everyone else in their lives while putting their own needs last, I want to be an advocate for their health and well-being.”
Outside of work, Ketharaju enjoys spending time with his family, photography, reading, and sketching.
