A new free weekly newspaper debuts Saturday all along the St. Lawrence Seaway, from Massena and Akwesasne to Ogdensburg and Morristown.

The first issue of the new Massena-Ogdensburg edition of North Country This Week will be available at more than 150 high-traffic locations. The distribution of 10,000 copies will also include Louisville, Heuvelton, Flackville and Black Lake.

The Massena-Ogdensburg edition features a similar format to the original edition of North Country This Week that has been serving the Greater Potsdam-Canton area for 29 years.

Many in the Seaway Valley are already familiar with NorthCountryNow.com, St. Lawrence County’s #1 website for news and information, which is a service of North Country This Week.

Now, readers in the Massena-Ogdensburg area can pick up a weekly print edition packed with local news stories, coming events and photos; the popular Sound Off reader opinion column; helpful day-by-day calendar listings; compelling local advertising; and St. Lawrence County’s most comprehensive employment “help wanted” section.

The news team includes Lisbon resident Jimmy Lawton, along with Craig Freilich and Lisa Hoover.

Newspaper veteran Sean McNamara of Ogdensburg is heading up advertising sales and overseeing circulation of the new edition. Long-time advertising representatives John Basham and Julie Spadacinni will also continue working with several Ogdensburg-Massena advertisers.

And advertisers will also benefit from award-winning quality ad design and layout created by Debbie Morgan and Georgia Schiavone. In recent years, both Debbie and Georgia have been honored with numerous awards for design excellence by the New York Press Association for ads they created for the original Potsdam-Canton edition of North Country This Week.

The Massena-Ogdensburg edition of North Country This Week is distributed at grocery, retail and convenience stores; restaurants, auto dealers, some housing complexes, and at libraries and government offices. For major pickup locations, visit http://northcountrynow.com/pick-your-copy

For more information about advertising in North Country This Week or having the paper distributed at your place of employment, please contact Sean McNamara at 265-1000, ext. 28 or at Sean@NorthCountryNow.com.
