Birch magazine, an online North Country arts and lifestyle publication, has released its second issue.

It features an article from Ogdensburg angler and artist Kyle Cushman. He practices gyotaku, a Japanese art used to capture accurate records of fisherman’s catches in the mid 1800’s. The process involves coating the fish in non-toxic ink and transferring its image onto a canvas.

The winter edition also includes an article from Maria Coarse of Deep Roots Center, an alternative school in Canton.

A variety of North Country photographs and artwork are also featured.
