MASSENA -- A new general surgeon is joining the ranks at Massena Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Dalkeith Facey will practice at their medical office building across from MMH on Maple Street, according to MMH CEO Robert Wolleben.

“We are very happy to have Dr. Facey join the medical staff here at the hospital,” said Wolleben. “We have a very strong medical staff and a good community for a physician to practice in. I believe Dr. Facey brings great credentials to the community and will do well in his practice serving the people in the North Country. His expertise in General and Laparoscopic Surgery, Wound Care and upper and lower Endoscopy is greatly needed for the communities we serve.”

“I just joined this facility in December, I moved from Virginia. I am excited to be back in New York because I was trained in New York, and this provides me the opportunity to provide quality surgical came to some of my fellow New York citizens and other patients that currently live in New York state,” said Dr. Facey.

Dr. Facey earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine/NYIT in Old Westbury. He completed his general surgery residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens.

“He has extensive training in General Surgery, Minimal Invasive Surgery, various surgical subspecialties, to include trauma, critical care, upper endoscopy and colonoscopy,” Wolleben said. “The surgeon is comfortable with general surgery, breast, laparoscopic and open colorectal, thyroid, laparoscopic and open hernia, temporary vascular, hemodialysis access, hemorrhoid surgery, wound care, minimally invasive surgeries, upper endoscopy and colonoscopy and stereotactic breast biopsy.”

He is board certified with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and a member of American Osteopathic Association, Wytheville Rotary Group in Virginia and Sigma Beta Delta, a national honor society for business management and administration.

Facey has joins Dr. Sanjay Shah in the MMH Surgical Group, 181 Maple St.

Patients who want to make an appointment can call 769-4656.

He welcomes new patients and referrals, Wolleben said.
