New gastroenterologist at Claxton-Hepburn in Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center recently added Dr. Ahmad Kadhim, gastroenterologist and internist, to their medical staff.

Kadhim earned his medical degree from Medical University of the Americas, Nevis, West Indies. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich. and then went on to complete two fellowships in gastroenterology, one at University of Ottawa and the other at the University of Toronto, both in Canada. He joins us from Good Samaritan Hospital, Mt. Vernon, Ill.

He is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and is board-eligible for the American Board of Gastroenterology. He served in many leadership roles during his education and training, and has also participated in published research papers.

He relocated to Ogdensburg to be closer to family and friends in Ottawa.

"I am looking forward to providing a much needed gastrointestinal services to Claxton-Hepburn and its patients,” he said in a prepared statement from the hospital. "I try to be a good listener with my patients to learn their story to develop an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan."

Kadhim plans to reside in Ogdensburg with his wife, Isra.
