The 2010 Local Food Guide is now available free from GardenShare.
This annual publication is the food lover's most complete source for finding the delicious food raised and produced in St. Lawrence County.
GardenShare's full-color 2010 Local Food Guide lists more than 70 outlets where shoppers can buy fresh vegetables, apples, berries, cheese, milk, yogurt, honey, maple products, meat, poultry, and eggs.
Included are farmers' markets, farm stands, U-pick farms, orchards, and organic farms, plus restaurants and stores.
The guide also describes a variety of programs that help make local food accessible and affordable to all, from free veggie coupons for nursing moms to shuttle buses that bring seniors to the farmers' market.
The guide also notes which farmers' markets accept EBT/SNAP cards.
