Lightfoot replaces Kevin Acres, R-Madrid, who has been named Finance Committee Chairman.
David Forsythe, R-Lisbon, was named Vice Chairman. He replaces Lightfoot, who previously served in that position.
Larry Denesha, R- DeKalb, will chair the Operations Committee and Bill Sheridan, R- Hammond, will chair the Services Committee.
The leadership was elected Wednesday at the county’s organizational meeting.
Several new legislators were also sworn in prior to the meeting.
New legislators include James Reagen, R-Lisbon; William Sheridan, R-Hammond; Rita Curran, R-Massena; Nicole Terminelli, D-Massena; Nance Arquiette; D-Potsdam; and David Haggard, D-Potsdam.
