CANTON -- A new tattoo shop just outside the village of Canton opened in September and is now offering portraits.

Cory Dihrberg owns and operates Tattosonyou, 5969, Route 11.

While he has only been in the business for about two years, he said he was learned quickly an recently completed one of his first portrait pieces for a customer.

Although he opened quietly in September Dihrberg said he is ready for customers.

"I kept it low key at first to get to get up and going. But now I can get things rolling," he said.

Dihrberg said he offers the only tattoo shop in the Town of Canton, and is located outside of the village because of a ban on tattoo parlors.

Although he attended Canton High School, Dihrberg, left the area and spent several years in Flordia. After having children he decided to move back to the North Country.

"The North Country is a hard place to make it, but its a good place to raise children," he said.

Dihrberg's shop is open from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. He said he is open on the weekend by appointment only.

Although his shop does not currently offer piercing he said he is looking for a qualified employee who could perform them.
