OSWEGATCHIE — A Heuvelton woman was identified as the driver in a hit-and-run accident that sent an Amish man to the hospital on Monday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
The incident took place on SH 184 around 11:40 a.m. near the Losurdo Cheese Plant in Heuvelton, deputies said.
Officers said the driver was Eleanor M. Willard, 79.
She was cited for leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and following too closely, deputies said.
The Amish man was transported to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center where he was transported and released, officers said.
Willard is to answer the charges in Oswegatchie court at a later date.
