FINE — Nearly 50 quilts were made by local residents and delivered to Quilts for Kids, an organization based in Glens Falls.
Quilts for Kids provides handmade quilts to children living with cancer or other life threatening illnesses.
Audrey Hall made 36 quilts and recruited the St. Lawrence Draft Horse Club, who made another dozen for donation.
The quilts are “kid sized.”
The making of quilts for homes and families has a long history in the Hall family. Audrey learned the love of quilting and service from her mother. She is passing along the family tradition to her grandaughter, Lacey Joe.
“I love quilts and I love kids”, Audrey said. “This is a great way to create beauty and share it with kids who need more beauty in their lives. With each quilt, I pick the fabric and envision a small child wrapping themselves in the final product. A quilt made with love makes a difference, and: I am happy to be a part of this project. We can always use more quilters and more quilts.”
