North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, has been endorsed in her run for a second term by the National Federation of Independent Business, the largest small business association in the country.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the NFIB,” said Stefanik. “Growing up in a small business family, I understand the challenges facing small businesses … in the North Country. Behind every small business, there is an entrepreneurial spirit. In Congress, I will focus on pro-growth policies that help to create new jobs for our families, and encourage small business owners to invest in the future of the 21st District.”
NFIB, based in Nashville, Tenn., reports having 325,000 member businesses.
"Our members back the candidates who support small business and will protect free enterprise,” said NFIB/New York State Director Mike Durant. “Elise Stefanik has shown a deep commitment to reducing the burdens on small businesses and opposing legislation that would make it even harder for them to grow and create jobs. New York can be difficult place for small businesses and it’s critical that we have better representation in Washington. Our members are highly engaged in the election this year and we intend to make a difference,” Durant said.
Stefanik faces challenges for her seat fro Democrat Mike Derrick of Peru and Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello of Glens Falls.
