RAYMONDVILLE -- A Monday morning fire at the woodchop shop is under investigation and state fire investigators are on their way to probe the incident, according to Norfolk Fire Chief Richard Bump.
“At this time, I’ve got investigators here and state fire en route to the scene," Bump said.
He said he is not able to comment on whether or not the fire is viewed as supicious.
The fire has been mostly extinguished, but fire personnel and investigators still have a lot to do, the chief said.
“We’ve got a pretty good night ahead of us yet," Bump said shortly after 3:30 p.m. “We’re still working our tails off ... the fire is pretty much out at this time."
More than 40 firefighters from numerous fire departments responded to the fire, the chief said.
St. Lawrence County Emergency Services dispatchers said the call came in at 10:52 a.m.
No injuries have been reported.
