OGDENSBURG -- Gary Alford has been appointed a part-time Ogdensburg City court judge.
Alford is a native of Morristown, and has resided in Ogdensburg for the past 22 years. He is a graduate of the University Of Buffalo School Of Law and has been practicing law since 1998. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1999.
Mayor William Nelson said, “He is an experienced attorney with a breadth of experience and knowledge in the practice of law. He is well respected in our community, and will serve his fellow citizens of Ogdensburg with honor and dignity in this position.”
Prior to becoming an attorney, he was an employee of the New York State Department of Labor, holding various professional positions in Ogdensburg and Massena.
He has served the community as president of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, a director on the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority, and a trustee and chairman of the Morristown Gateway Museum.
