OSWEGATCHIE -- A Morristown man was charged after fleeing police in a 2016 Ford Fusion while being interviewed during a traffic stop early Thursday morning, according to state police.
Around 1:07 a.m. state police assisted U.S. Border Patrol with a traffic stop on state Route 37. The operator of the vehicle, 53-year-old Bradley E. Elliott, was being interviewed by troopers when he put the car in gear and fled the scene, police said.
State police followed the vehicle west on state Highway 37, and it turned north onto Chapman Street Road in Morristown. The vehicle then continued south onto Main Street and then west onto Water Street where the vehicle came to a stop in the Morristown Boat Launch parking lot, police said.
Elliott was ticketed for failure to comply, unsafe start, failure to keep right, failure to use designated lane, moved from lane unsafely and depositing refuse on a highway.
The tickets are returnable to Ogdensburg City Court, Oswegatchie Town Court, and Morristown Court.
