MORRISTOWN -- The Village of Morristown and Morristown Fire Department announced the opening of the ice skating rink on the pavilion behind the fire station, 200 Morris St.
It will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., depending on weather, and will be illuminated from 4 to 10 p.m.
There are skates available for people who need them on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the new Morristown Village Clerkâs office, located at 402 Gouverneur St. The phone number for the clerk is 375-8822. There is no cost to use the ice skates and there are sizes that range from kids to adults.
There will be ice hockey sticks, goals and pucks for use at the ice rink. There are also several ice skating trainers at the ice rink for those who are just learning how to skate.
The Morristown Fire Department and the Morristown Recreation Committee purchased 40 sheets of plywood that were painted white by the Morristown Fire Department Jr. Firefighters. That plywood was recently put up around the entire ice rink.
The rink is open to anyone.
