MORRISTOWN -- The Faculty, Staff, and Administration of the Morristown Central School District have announced the class leaders for the graduating class of 2018.
This year’s valedictorian is Allison Hockey.
She has earned a cumulative average of 94.87 after seven semesters of academics.
Allison is a member of the National Honor Society, marching band, Spanish club, yearbook club, Liberty Partnership Program, Young Publishers Organization, and participated in soccer, basketball, and softball.
She received the Clarkson Leadership Award, the University of Rochester Frederick Douglass & Susan B. Anthony award and the St. Lawrence University Augsbury North Country scholarship.
Allison will be attending St. Lawrence University in the fall, where she will pursue a career in clinical psychology.
She will graduate with a Regents diploma with advanced distinction with honors, mastery in math and science.
She has also earned AP calculus credit and has completed twelve college credits while at Morristown.
Allison is the daughter of Kevin and Leslie Hockey.
This year’s salutatorian is Leah Ward.
She has earned a cumulative average of 94.32 after seven semesters of academics.
Leah is a member of the National Honor Society, athletic council, Spanish club, Mock trial, and has played soccer, basketball, and softball throughout her high school career.
She also serves as her class President and the National Honor Society President.
She received the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Science award, the Elmira Key award, and the St. Lawrence University Augsbury North Country scholarship.
Leah will be attending SUNY Plattsburg for history education.
Leah will graduate with a Regents diploma with advanced distinction, mastery in math and science.
She has also earned AP calculus credit and has completed twelve college credits while at Morristown.
Leah is the daughter of Daniel and Natisha Ward.
