The towns of Macomb and Morristown are seeking public comment tonight, Nov. 10, on the implementation of the Black Lake Septic Repair and Replacement Project administered by St. Lawrence County.
In 2013, the county was awarded a $400,000 Community Development Block Grant to assist income-eligible households in the Black Lake watershed with the repair or replacement of deficient septic systems. Funds for the project have been fully committed, and construction will be complete before the end of the year.
Each town is hosting a public hearing this evening, Nov. 10.
In Morristown, the hearing will be held at 7 p.m. at the Morristown Town Clerk’s Office, 604 Main St.
In Macomb, the hearing will be held at 7:15 p.m. in the Macomb Municipal Building, 6663 State Highway 58.
Staff from the county Planning Office will provide each town with an overview of how many households were assisted; the average amount of assistance provided to households; and how many low-to-moderate income persons benefitted from the program.
