More thunderstorms expected in St. Lawrence County today

A low pressure system will move into the St. Lawrence Valley likely bringing showers and a chance of thunderstorms throughout today and into tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The highs for today are expected to be in the mid 70s with light winds and a 70 percent chance of rain.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight with lows around 60 overnight, TWS says.

There will be a chance of showers Friday morning before becoming partly cloudy with warm temperatures predicted to be around 75 degrees.

The forecast for the weekend is clear skies and highs near 80.

The forecast for the next week is as follows:

Tonight Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 9pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9pm and 11pm, then a chance of showers after 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 59. East wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday A 20 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 75. East wind 3 to 7 mph.

Friday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph after midnight.

Saturday Partly sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 56. Southeast wind 3 to 5 mph.

Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Light east wind.

Sunday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 57. Light and variable wind becoming southeast around 5 mph after midnight.

Monday Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.
