More snow, sleet, rain in the forecast for St. Lawrence County

Posted

Snow tonight could turn to sleet by tomorrow afternoon, as our sometimes-winter weather continues right up to February.

The mostly sunny skies today will cloud over as the chance of precipitation rises to 50 percent tonight. That 50 percent chance will persist through Wednesday, changing from light snow tonight to sleet tomorrow.

The National Weather Service forecasters don't think tonight's snow will amount to more than an inch. Lows will be about 17 degrees.

The snow could continue tomorrow, until the afternoon, when it could turn to sleet, with highs in the mid-30s tomorrow. That could accumulate to two inches, the forecasters say.

Tuesday night there is a good chance of rain or freezing rain, tapering off to rain showers. Lows will only dip a couple of degrees from the daytime high.

Wednesday, rain showers will become drizzle, with a high around 42, before leaving that night, if the NWS forecast holds up. Wednesday night lows will be around 18.

Thursday it is expected to be partly sunny with the high approaching 30 degrees.

Thursday night, the temperature will be in the mid-teens again, under partly cloudy skies.

The sun is expected to show itself again on Friday, with the high temp around 28.

From Friday night through Sunday, skies will vary from mostly cloudy to partly cloudy, with overnight lows in the low teens and highs around 30.
