More dry weather Friday, but weekend showers possible

Posted

Dry weather is expected for the rest of today and tonight behind the cold front that brought some severe weather to the North Country on Wednesday.

But that could change on Friday night into Saturday morning, when we could see a few passing showers, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Sunny and dry conditions return by mid-day Saturday as high pressure builds back into the North Country for the remainder of the weekend.

Today’s high temperatures, in the upper 70s, will drop to around 50 tonight in calm air.

Friday’s highs under mostly clear skies will approach 80 degrees with a light south wind developing.

The Weather Service is calling for clouds and a 20 percent chance of rain Friday night, up to about 40 percent in the south of the county, with lows below 60.

Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday are expected to have clear skies, with highs Saturday near 77 in the north and center of St. Lawrence County, and about five degrees cooler in the south. Saturday night’s temperatures will be in the mid-50s, and rising to the mid-80s Sunday.

Sunday night, clouds move in. Lows will be around 60.

The work week begins Monday with mostly sunny skies but a 40 percent chance showers and thunderstorms, and highs around 85. The chance of precipitation continues at around 40 percent Monday night, with lows around 60.

Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the mid-70s.
