Nearly 1,600 National Grid customers in southern St. Lawrence County and more than 1,100 in the Hammond area were without power tonight as thunderstorms swept through the region.
In the Cranberry Lake area, a total of 699 customers were without electricity in Clifton 699 while another 898 were powerless in Fine at around 10:30 p.m. National Grid estimates power will be restored by 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
In Hammond, 1,157 households and businesses were without power and National Grid predicted electricity would be restored by 1 a.m.
Other towns without power included Fowler, with 41 customers powerless, Hermon, with 420, and Macomb with 54.
