NORWOOD – With more than 4,500 National Grid customers still without power, the American Red Cross has set up an emergency shelter at Norwood-Norfolk Central School, 7852 NYS Hwy. 56 for those without power or needing shelter.
According to the Potsdam Storm Incident Command Post at the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department, anyone without power or shelter may report to the school.

Red Cross workers are at the shelter ready to serve individuals who need assistance.
About 1,700 of those without power are located in the town and village of Potsdam, and the Village of Norwood, and National Grid now says power will not likely be restored until Wednesday.
Other areas with significant numbers of power outages include Brasher, Canton, Hopkinton, Lawrence, Lisbon, Madrid, Oswegatchie, Piercefield and Stockholm.
