OGDENSBURG – More than 100 parcels of property seized by St. Lawrence County for failure by the owners to pay taxes will be auctioned off at Lockwood Arena Saturday.
Properties listed on the county’s web site include some good houses and some old, dilapidated houses, vacant rural land, commercial properties and other lands.
The original list of about 200 parcels has been cut to about 160, since some parcels have been removed from the sale because the taxes due have been paid.
According to the announcement of the sale from the county, former property owners have today at 5 p.m. to repurchase the property by paying back taxes, so the list could shrink some more before tomorrow’s auction.
Registration for the sale will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Lockwood Arena, on West River Street. The auction begins at 10 a.m.
The county web site has a page listing all the properties up for bid at http://www.co.st-lawrence.ny.us/Departments/RealProperty/AuctionBook.
