WADDINGTON -- A Massena man hit a moose with his vehicle at 7:32 p.m. Wednesday on County Route 28 near County Route 31A, according to state police.
State police said a moose was killed after a 2008 Honda Civic operated by Jonathan W. Catton, 30, of Massena.
Troopers say he was traveling east on Route 28 when a moose entered the roadway.
Conservation officers responded and removed the deceased moose.
Catton was not injured.
The vehicle sustained damages to the front end and roof and was towed from the scene.
