BRASHER – A Moira man who was arrested on over 20 charges last week including auto theft and fleeing police was jailed Monday for stealing a John Deere farm tractor.
According to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies, Shawn D. Schreier, 21, 455 County Route 32, was charged with third and fourth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief.
Schreier allegedly took the tractor from a resident on County Route 53 and caused damage to it during the incident, deputies said.
Shreier was jailed last week after stealing a vehicle and fleeing police which resulted in numerous charges including grand-larceny, resisting arrest, and leaving the scene of an accident.
He was arraigned in Brasher Town court by Honorable John L. Burns and sent to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail, officers said.
Schreier is due back in Brasher Town Court Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. to answer the charges, deputies said.
