AKWESASNE – With the beginning of the racing season about to get underway May 11, Mohawk International Raceway is inviting fans to an open practice session for all Saturday.
All drivers are looking to put their cars to the test before the new season gets underway. Practice is set to start at noon and will run through 4 p.m. Grandstand admission for the practice session is free.
To open racing the following Friday, May 11, Akwesasne Mohawk Casino presents a 40 lap 358 Modified main event paying $2000 to win, along with a full show of Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Mod Lites and Bandits. General admission on opening night is $15. The first race of the evening starts at 7:45 p.m.
Mohawk International Raceway is midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. From State Rt. 37, turn south onto Frogtown Road.
Racing is held on Friday nights at 7:45 p.m. from May through September featuring the Frenchie's Chevrolet DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Pro Stocks, as well as the Bandit division.
