AKWESASNE -- Mohawk Council of Akwesasne's Department of Health is investigating a salmonella outbreak.
"If you or anyone you know has attended a social gathering within the last two weeks and are exhibiting symptoms of a salmonella infection please contact a community health nurse or your health care provider," a release issued Wednesday by the council says.
Officials on the Canadian side of the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation are investigating a salmonella outbreak that they say could affect "dozens" of community members.
Symptoms including cramps, fever, headache, chills nausea, diarrhea and vomitting can last four to seven days or longer.
