Mixed precipitation will change to all snow later this morning as colder air works its way into the St. Lawrence Valley, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. in St. Lawrence County.
Snow, sleet and freezing rain are all possible this morning creating hazardous travel conditions for roads across the North Country.
About 1 to 4 inches of snow is expected this morning with ice possible as well and limited visibility, NWS says.
The storm is expected to end this afternoon and with winds increasing as the day goes on, the service says. Winds of 15 to 18 mph and gusts of 31 mph are expected to cause wind chill values near -1.
Tonight will be cold with lows of -1 and winds 8 to 13 mph, the service says.
Seasonal temps are forecasted for most of the week and weekend before temps could rise into the 50s on Tuesday.
