COLTON — A wintry weather mix resulted in seven St. Lawrence County National Grid customers losing power this morning.
National Grid says power is out to some homes in the Colton area. Electricity is expected to be restored by 4 p.m.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect through 10 p.m. tonight as snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected to hit St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service.
Accumulation could be around two to four inches of sleet and snow and around a tenth to a a quarter inch of ice, NWS says.
NWS says road conditions will likely be hazardous along with the potential for power outages due to the combination of snow, sleet, ice and gusty winds.
Cautions is urged when driving or walking. Untreated surfaces will likely be very slippery this morning. Wind gusts could reach 30 mph during the day, NWS says.
