State police say a man last seen in the St. Regis Falls area has been found dead.
On Thursday around 11 a.m., troopers say Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers contacted them after finding human remains in the vicinity of Slush Pond Road in Paul Smiths.
The body has tentatively been identified as Bruce Waite, 48, of Bangor, a man who state police say was reported missing to them on June 18.
Earlier in July, troopers asked the public for tips in finding the missing man, who had last been seen in the St. Regis Falls area.
Franklin County Coroner Ronald Keough authorized removal of the body to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake where an autopsy will be performed at a later date and time, police said.
