Forecasters at the National Weather Service say there is a chance snow could fall tonight across St. Lawrence County.
After a mostly cloudy night, they say there is a 40 percent chance of snow in the early morning hours in Gouverneur, 30 percent odds in Canton, and Ogdensburg and 20 percent in Massena and Potsdam.
Temperatures are anticipated in the low 20s.
That is expected to go up to 50 percent odds on Tuesday, with temperatures possibly elevating to the high 30s, the NWS says.
Tuesday night is forecast to be partly cloudy with thermometers returning to the low 20s.
Wednesday is expected to be sunny with temperatures in the high 40s with a partly cloudy night in the low 30s, giving way to a sunny Thanksgiving with temperatures warming up to the low 50s.
The detailed forecast for Potsdam:
Monday night - A 20 percent chance of snow showers after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 24. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight.
Tuesday - A 50 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Light and variable wind. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tuesday night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 23. Calm wind.
Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 42. South wind 3 to 6 mph.
Wednesday night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 32. South wind 7 to 10 mph.
Thanksgiving Day - Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. South wind 11 to 13 mph.
Thursday night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. South wind 11 to 13 mph.
Friday - A 50 percent chance of showers after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. Southwest wind 13 to 15 mph.
Friday night - Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 33. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
