GOUVERNEUR – A Marine from Gouverneur who was killed in a North Carolina automobile accident recently is being honored with a memorial in Camp Lejeune, N.C..

Two memorials are being displayed to honor Skyler D. Way, 19, of Gouverneur and his fellow Marine Nicholas S. Buscarnera, 19, of Mastic Beach.

Both soldiers were found dead Jan. 7 after a single-vehicle crash on Catfish Lake Road, Havelock, N.C.

Both Way and Buscarnera served as ammunition technicians.
