Memorial Day weekend forecast: mostly sunny and warm, with slight chance of rain

If you like today’s temperatures and party sunny skies, you’ll probably love Memorial Day weekend.

The National Weather Service is predicting mostly sunny skies with a high near 78 on Saturday.

Sunday, a high near 76 and partly cloudy skies is expected. There is a 30 percent chance of rain.

And while there is a 30 to 40 percent chance of thunderstorms Sunday night and Monday, the weather service is predicting sunny skies and a high near 78 on Memorial Day.

Meanwhile, tonight, expect partly cloudy skies, with a low around 57.

The weather service forcecast for the rest of the work week:

• Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. South wind between 6 and 8 mph.

• Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. South wind around 8 mph.

• Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind between 11 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
