POTSDAM – A new comprehensive plan for the Town of Potsdam will be developed with the help of citizen participation in several meetings this month.
The organizers urge people from the villages of Potsdam and Norwood to also provide their input.
The meetings will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on three successive Wednesdays in Town Hall, 18 Elm St. The dates and the topic areas to be discussed are:
• Jan. 17, Housing and Neighborhoods / Quality of Life
• Jan. 24, Business and Economic Development / Land Use
• Jan. 31, Infrastructure and Energy.
Those who wish to submit comments online may do so at https://goo.gl/forms/aIfTsfllJunz3hXw2.
The comprehensive plan will include ways to set and reach goals in a variety of areas including housing, business, agriculture, and infrastructure, and to integrate Climate Smart Community aims such as an inventory of emissions, reducing energy use, using a higher proportion of renewable energy, and realizing benefits of recycling and other “climate-smart” solid waste management practices.
