The St. Lawrence County chapter of the American Association of University Women is taking applications for the 2014 AAUW Memorial Scholarship.
The deadline is May 2, the award date is May 22.
The one-time award of $500 is available to any female SUNY Canton student who is a resident of St. Lawrence County.
Candidates must hold at least a 2.5 GPA and be in transition from a local two-year program to an accredited four-year track. Preference is given to non-traditional-aged students demonstrating leadership and community service potential and pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or math fields. Applicants need to submit a completed form, faculty letter of support and a 500-700 word letter about their educational goals, career ambitions and a community service history.
