MASSENA -- Blistering cold did not deter Massena area dog enthusiasts from joining the first annual Doggie Winter Fashion Show this past Saturday.
As part of the Massena Winter Carnival, the Nature Center hosted the canine event at 10 a.m.
Contestants were judged in three categories: "Best Dressed", "Largest" and "Cutest" and prizes went out to the winners.
Participants were treated to bone-shaped cookies and hot chocolate, and dogs had people-shaped doggie treats.
The event was so well received that plans are in the works for a summer "Doggie Fashion Show," according to Debra Donatto, Nature Center Program Coordinator..
"We are thinking of doing it again in July when it's warm out - maybe something on the beach with 'doggie' swimwear and talent contests," she said.
