MASSENA -- The St. Lawrence Centre has been sold.

Shapiro Group, a Montreal-based company, is now listing the mall on State Rt. 37 on their website as a retail property with directions to use their information request form to inquire about leasing space.

The company’s website lists 36 properties with space for lease, mostly around Quebec and Ontario.

The properties, according to the website, include “office buildings, commercial/industrial properties, vacant land, retail strip centers, enclosed malls and mini warehousing facilities.”

Carlisle St. Lawrence owned the St. Lawrence Centre prior to the sale. Massena Assessor Mike Ward said Carlisle was listed as having owned several parcels around the mall. It is not clear which of those were included in the sale, or who the buyer actually is.

Properties listed under Carlisle ownership include the mall itself assessed at $3,245,500. The arena is assessed at $243,750. A commercial parcel of empty land is assessed at $141,000 and a second empty parcel is assessed at $90,000. Taco Bell is assessed at $522,500. And part of a road going between McDonald’s and Hannaford is assessed at $1,200, according to Ward.

Shapiro Group said they would release a statement with more information in the near future. St. Lawrence Centre officials declined comment.
